Wormtopia

Today's group discovered that the worms like salad. They were fed December 11. They got fed lettuce and carrots. You can see most worms in the red and green section because there is more food. The temperature inside is 72 degrees and the temperature outside is 67 degrees. Most of the worms were eating pumpkin and apple. There is still something left in the compost bin. It is pear and salad. There are no worms in the red section, but there is a lot of food. There are a lot of worms in the green section, but there is not much food.

Group 3

Today in Wormtopia all the worms are in the middle. The worms are still on the apple. We think the worms are in the middle because they like the dark and the middle of the bin is darker. The worms stay on one half of the bin and food is on the other side. We think they stay on that side because the food that is on the other side is the food they don't like. The bin is 72 degrees inside and 71 degrees outside.

Today is December 11, 2007. Most of the worms seem to be in the black and yellow sections of the compost bin. These worms were last fed November 30, 2007. A tiny part of pear was eaten, but it was starting to get moldy. So Hannah threw the pear away. The outside temperature was 70 degrees. The worms were getting a warm temperature of 74 degrees in the bin. There were gnats that flew out when we opened the bin. Log back in for an even better story next Tuesday.

Worm Topia Group 1

Today in worm topia the worms were not anywhere near the apple Mrs. Jett put in. The worms enjoyed a toasty temperature of 70 degrees. The worms loved the nice pear in the yellow section. The worms were terrified of the apple making them run for for a better place to spend their day! Why do you think the worms are not eating the apple?

wormtopia

Today group four was studying the worm compost, and we saw most all of the worms all cuddled up. Most of the worms were in the middle at the pink section and they were fed November 30. The apples and the pears appeared to be left in the compost bin. They have eaten the pears and apples, too. The temperature outside of the compost bin is sixty eight degrees fahrenheit. The temperature is sixty degrees inside the compost bin. Mrs. Jett moved the apples to the middle so the worms would eat them, but the worms are all over the bin.

Wormtopia

Today in Wormtopia it was 70 degrees. All the worms are in the middle of the bin. Now Mrs. Jett is moving the food to where the worms are. We think the worms are in the middle because it is the darkest spot in the bin. Now we are putting new newspaper in the bin.

Wormtopia was extremly busy in the pink section in the corner of the bin, where there was very little food. All of the worms didn't bother to go in the other sections, very unsual for worms. But there was very little food eaten. They were last fed Friday, November 30, 2007. Today is December 4,2007, and it is 72 degrees farinhight inside and outside the bin. Log in next week, December 11, 2007, for more information.

Group 1

Today in Wormtopia the worms were not anywhere near the apple. The apple was in the orange part and the worms were in the pink part. All of the worms were all clustered together in the pink part. Today the worms were attacked by the evil fruit fly! The worms were not alarmed when the evil fly attacked. Why were the worms all clustered together? Why were they not eating the apple? The worms do not like yellow apple in big slices.
