First grade visit

On Tuesday the 22 of April and Friday the 25 three classes came to visit our class to see our worms. They came to observe the worms after studying about worms in their classrooms. They were fascinated on how small and fragile the worms were. Some kids were very brave and held them with their bare hands, others needed gloves but some didn't hold the worms at all. The students learned how to care for the worms, wich was needed because Mrs. Snow's class is starting their own wormbin!! Congraulations and good luck!!! Log in next time to learn more about our worms!

Wormtopia

Today's group discovered that the worms like salad. They were fed December 11. They got fed lettuce and carrots. You can see most worms in the red and green section because there is more food. The temperature inside is 72 degrees and the temperature outside is 67 degrees. Most of the worms were eating pumpkin and apple. There is still something left in the compost bin. It is pear and salad. There are no worms in the red section, but there is a lot of food. There are a lot of worms in the green section, but there is not much food.

Group 3

Today in Wormtopia all the worms are in the middle. The worms are still on the apple. We think the worms are in the middle because they like the dark and the middle of the bin is darker. The worms stay on one half of the bin and food is on the other side. We think they stay on that side because the food that is on the other side is the food they don't like. The bin is 72 degrees inside and 71 degrees outside.
